try this link for a good b&w action (which u might have seen), it actually does do a very good default job. I tried it on your pic and it looks alright. imho.
Thanks for the tip, Richard. I tried the photo toner and you're right - it looks pretty good.
I like the shot too Maurie. Has the shot been photoshopped to make the background black? otherwise u controlled the lighting pretty well. A wide aperture and a far background wouldn't be enough to make the background black, right?
I think it's actually possible in a macro shot due to the inverse square law. ie, the lens is very close to the subject, which means that light drop-off of the background would be dramatically larger than with a normal shot.
Paypal isn't a bank even though it operates sort of like a bank. So from that perspective you're not particularly safe. They can do whatever they like to your account and you've basically got no recourse because you "signed" their agreement.
On the other hand, if you deal with people that have a good trading history and lots of +ve feedback, you're safe enough.
Oh.. Australia is such a rip off place to buy things though. The world has become a smaller place and especially thing like cameras are so easily buyable overseas and brought in.
Ya got that right I bought a Lowrepro Vest, Belt, and a couple of pouches plus a 75 AW Snoot Bag all for the cost of just the Belt here.
And what about the Nikkor 200-400 VR wildlife lens I'd like .
I could go to the US on Holiday for a week purchase the lens and return home, and still have change over what you'd pay here.
