I'd like to know more about the 32 bit process, and how you keep file sizes down to a manageable level for your processor to be phone to handle.
Peter
Hi Peter. It can be done easily. I am getting a new computer, but I have worked on 30+ layers including HUGE enlargements on a 6 year old macbook Pro (plugged into the ultimate Dell U3014. The last file I worked on this week was 120 inches at 300ppi. I took 12 megapixels to a 120x80 world class gallery print for a client. I’m going to have a little before and after on my Youtube Page very soon! Most people do not think this is possible. The 12MP was actually bad to begging with!
But the computer is dedicated to nothing but photo work… Everything is turned off. Let me know if you need help. As far as the Ultimate Quality 32- Raw Layer Workflow. I finally made a FREE video (because so many people have been messaging me - almost daily from everywhere. It will go out to everyone who PM’s me their email address, or better yet, goes to markmetternich.com and joins my Newsletter (main menu pull down on the right and sign up...). It looks like I finally have a video editor again (my last one had a family crisis) and production will resume! THIS SUBJECT of #2-bit Raw Layer Workflow is a quantum leap forward in quality, and FAR ahead of the curve! I’ve had bth Print Guru of gurus Robert Park (Nevada Art Printers - Lumachrome HD) and an Adobe employee (who did our print workshop say something to the extent of it being yes, absolutely the top of the top.) Adobe did not announce it as they should have (and I understand their marketing strategy - which does not prioritize fine art photographer quality freaks like many of us here... (although they give us the tools!)! So, the cool thing is that I have worked very hard to pioneer this workflow for almost 4 years and have about 5 Complete Workflows (from A to Z videos) in the works (all different images).
• Beginner (for those with not a lot of Photoshop Skills)
• Intermediate (getting into the really good stuff)
• Advanced (exploiting all the 32-bit lossless goodness on files and teaching a lot of ways to get the more challenging or creative things done as well. And pushing quality to its highest height!)
• The Ultimate Quality Black and Whites! (no black and whites compare to 32-Raw Layer Black and !hites! More flexibility of Silver Effects Pro - much more - but totally 32-bit absolute losslessness… It is going to blow some people's minds.
• Lastly, The Ultimate Quality 32-bit Low Light/Milky Way, Night/Stars… This is a HUGE place where 32-bits makes a HUGE quality difference, because of the low data and low quality data almost always associated with night shots!

A calming composition with gorgeous colors and stars. This would be great in a yoga studio, clinic, or hospital.

Love it, I can look in to this picture for hours! I like the first version bit more, maybe because it has the richer look.

It looks so serene, but your description with scrambling and the “roaring crescendo” says it was anything but.
! OM goodness, yeah I’m admittedly a little nuts. 😳 😜 Climbing up and down steep 300 foot cliffs, bushwhacking, scouting, figuring out how to get on the smaller monolith at lowest tide. Wondering if I was going to die from a mega sneaker wave 🌊 at night in the dark as the ROARING surf in the dark fog below, getting cold and having to use my guitar case (soft case) to wrap around my body, setting my alarm for every 15-30 minutes to try to get the milky way, drinking some moonshine (apple pie) 🍺 and smoking a cigar playing my guitar, then finally seeing morning light after a quick nap, jumping off the rock with all my gear partially in the water at low tide, then having to climb back up the cliff with all my gear! Yeah, I can say I took a big NAP that mid-day before trying it over again! The thing is, it’s my job! So I have to work extra hard at it. But wow I’ll never forget all these stories and wonderful experiences! But better when you're not alone and you can share it with a friend… Blessings! 🙏🏼
Awesome image and really enjoyed your write up. I’m fairly new here and will have to checkout more of your posts....Show more →

Inspiring Mark. I hope to explore the Oregon coast once day soon and your many stunning images posted here will be one of the reasons why, as well as a acting as a shining examplar of what can be achieved during those low times in our searches where we question the underlying sanity of our quest in the middle of the night ;-)
