I have been to Venice during the mask carnival time some 6 times. I had a chance to photograph Paolo Favalesi in his elaborate costume on a private basis 3 times I was there. Here is a selection of images during one of those occasions. In three images, Anna Garusi appeared with him in a matching costume. They make their own costumes for each event. Typically, it takes months to complete the costumes. They are definitely among my favorites of that event. We keep in contact throughout the years and I would love to go back to Venice for another opportunity although not this year for sure considering the circumstances, but maybe in 2022.

If I may - the "At a courtyard" image is superbly conceived. However, it doesn't quite live up to its potential as the colour palette of the apparel matches that of the columns. A colour contrast would have made the model stand out.

Thank you very much, Rajan! You have a very good point and I felt the same way. Actually, I do have a different but similar image at the same location that I ended up converting the surrounding to get that effect. Since I did that a few times, I felt that it may not be a good idea to post too many images rendered like that.
