So this past weekend I went to see Imperial dunes near Mexico border. I went there a few times before and dunes usually looked great there, but this time I was hugely disappointed. They are completely covered now with vegetation (dry bushes, grass etc.) and I could not find a nice sandy spot to photograph. I guess the place had a lot rain in the recent few years....
So, I decided to hit the Anza Borrego desert and shoot badlands there instead.
Dune shots you see here are from my recent trip to Death Valley.
Thanks for looking.........

Yeah, the Imperial Dunes suck. The part that is not covered in shrubs is infested by dune buggies this time of year,
That first image looks to be the East-facing view from Font's point shot at sunset. You should visit that same location in spring when the sun rises at the "correct" location. Unlike sunset, the place is mostly deserted at sunrise.
Much further south, closer to Ocottillo, are several badlands that are far less visited, have great slot canyons and impressive views at both sunrise and sunset. It does take a vehcile with decent clearance to get there though.
You should have led with those dune images, as they are absolutely amazing! The last two pictures are stunning nature abstracts. They are very well seen, composed, and processed.

Great series!

Thanks Bruce. I wanted to have something else included, not just dunes shots. I've posted dune shots a couple of times recently...
