If you can get a replacement, I'd go for it; but canon USA Tech Reps are not all the most competent:
I contacted a CPS Rep, with an R5 issue, and the first thing he told me was that he didn't have an R5 handy, but did have the manual, and eventually informed me that I must send both the Camera, and my RF100-500L in for Factory Service.
I posed the very same question on FM, and a fellow forum member pointed out that I simply needed to check another Menu item to solve the issue.
I did so, and it worked like a champ!

From what I have been able to uncover is they will change out the main board. But that isn’t happening until we are back from our Antartica trip in November.

BTW, is normal for a CF express card to get hot while transferring files to a PC? Currently, I'm using a Sony 128G tough express card. Thinking of maybe return back and get a Sandisk extreme pro CF and start fresh.
Yes they get hot. My Sony Tough and my ProGrades get hot. My Sandisk gets hotter, and hottest of all is the AB 512GB.
No worries. Just eject immediately after downloads, as they continue to heat just sitting in the reader.
