p.1 #1 · Canon 7D Mark II with over 400,000 shutter count
I'm helping my uncle sell all his Canon gears as he has moved to Sony and initially I bought Freeshuttercount, installed it on my Mac, paid the 5$ unlock fee and got a reading of over 400,000.
I thought it was a bug, I knew my uncle was a hardcore bird/wildlife photographer but couldn't imagine him getting this many shutter count especially since he had 3-4 other Canon DSLR in his arsenal.
Installed Astro Photography Tool, plugged in the 7D Mark II and to my surprise and confirmation, shutter count is at 448.383
Now, does this have any value still or people will be weary on buying this.

I don't know... I know I wouldn't buy it. That shutter is on borrowed time. You may want to contact Canon and find out what a shutter replacement would cost and then decide if it's worth the hit. Otherwise you'll likely have to sell it extremely cheap.

thanks for the input, i posted the camera locally for cheap (400CAD$) and someone offered me 300CAD$ shortly after which was the price my uncle wanted to get from this camera. someone locally I knew bought the camera.
i agree though that buying cameras with high shutter count is risky but seems like Canon shutters are quite reliable.
in over 15 years that my uncle has been shooting canon, I never heard from him about any shutter failing, on the other hand his Sony A7III shutter failed after 10months and he had to pay 600CAD$ for repair.

I mean it's going to hurt the value but dang. He got a great deal if it has lasted that long.
I'd be extremely hesitant to replace a non-broken shutter. There's no guarantee that it won't go a couple hundred thousand more. More than the replacement.

If my math works out, he paid less than half a Canadian cent per photo taken. Got a lot of value of that camera, for sure!
