Dave, glad you got the R5 to use on your awesome Alaska trip. I know you and your wife will have great memories of the experience. Very nice work and enjoyed seeing them all.
Don
Thanks Don! We're both getting old(ish) so we made sure to shoot tons of video to help refresh our memories as the years roll by. We both wake up every morning thinking about our amazing Alaska adventure. We want to go back already but maybe hit Denali the next time. In another decade or so.

Beautiful shots! But where were the fishermen? At the confluence of the Kenai and Russian river I saw them lined up as far as the eye could see. But that was a few years ago.
Thanks! The fishermen seemed to have been mostly fishing downstream toward the Kaenai from where we went in at the Pink Salmon parking lot. We saw a couple at first but once we left the established trail and it became just a bear trail, we never saw anyone until we made it up the the falls over 2 miles later. We were not anywhere near the confluence of the Kenai on this hike. We did spend 4 hours one day setting on the bank of the Kenai waiting for some bears to show up that we had been told were frequenting the area but we never saw them. Tons of fishermen on the Kenai river though.

Amazing set Dave. That sounds like an adventure I'm not sure even I'd try.

Geoff
Thanks Geoff! It's certainly a little more risky than chasing birds around. My trouble now is having to come home to yard birds and an occasional wood duck on a good day. Wish I could do a trip like this every year.

These are exquisite, Dave. All the more with what it took to get you there. Nice that you and your wife got to experience it together.
Cheers,
George
Thanks George! I appreciate it. We did enjoy it, although I'm not sure if I could talk my wife into that hike again.

I very much enjoyed both the story and the images, Dave. I wasn't into photography yet when we went to Alaska in 2006, hope to go back again. Another exotic place I really want to go back to again is Iceland.

So glad you enjoyed the set and thank you! I hear you on past trips before we were into photography. My wife and I went to Yellowstone 11 years ago before I was into clicking. Now all I want to do is get back there and fill my hard drive with as much wildlife photos as I can. Fingers crossed we will be able to get back there before we leave this world someday.

Next time your ass has to take ME with you.

I don't know about my "ass" taking you with me next time, but if I'm ever fortunate enough to go again, I'll give you a shout.
Thanks Jeff!
