Yes, it's an amazing lens. (I'm very happy with the Batis, so probably won't re-buy the ZA, but I did love it.)

There are negatives though. It's a bit on the heavy side at 1080g with adapter, especially with the hood (heavy hood), there is noticeable axial CA wide open and it's noisy compared to my Sony/Batis/Sigma E-mount lenses. The FE 85/1.4 GM is silent next to it.
High resolution/contrast across the frame and superb rendering at any distance are the main strengths. Another lens I really like is the Minolta 100/2 for its size, high resolution and pleasant rendering.

It's sharp. AF has to choose pupil or eye-lash at this distance + aperture and it goes for the latter. The benefit is having out of focus skin so no post-processing work.
The Batis at f/2.8 is able to get both more in focus as long as it's not too close but blemishes and wrinkles are more noticeable.
@bjornthun: I've added a 1:1 crop from the first image to the post. (Hopefully my wife won't find out )

I've never used any of these adapters. Is the exif transmitted properly? TAP apparently emulates an earlier adapter and requires F2 for proper exposure unless use EC. I am drawn to the 100/2.8 SF lens. I can't think of many AF SF lenses.
My interest in novelty lenses seems inversely proportional to ability to travel.

Everything is transmitted properly. The 5 pin, older Minolta a transmit enough for 3 axis stabilization, while the newer 8 pin ones can do 5. Focal length (even on zooms) and aperture all get passed through.

My biggest gripe with the ZA 135 was Sony's refusal to allow interoperation with the 1.4x (making the screw-drive capability on the 1.4x an even bigger mystery). That was a disappointment moving from Canon to the a900. They had me spoiled with the 135L + 1.4x, but I learned to appreciate the ZA on it's own merits.
The Mino 100/2 looks great, like they improved over the MC Rokkor in all the right ways and left the charm.

It's a negative but the Sony 135/1.8 GM does not allow teleconverters either.
