p.1 #1 · Sierra foothills - Perseids and a crazy sunset
I had no intention of trying to photograph the Perseids meteor shower. But a friend pinged me and said she wanted to go and see it, which changed my mind. I drove wife and friend to a "darker" spot, about 40 minutes outside the city, in the Sierra foothills. It was the night of the peak, the hour of the peak. We craned our necks and waited. And waited. I setup my tripod with my star tracker hoping to do some long exposures to increase my chance at capturing a meteor. The star tracker battery was dead. Story of my life. So instead I took 20s exposure using the interval timer and took a hundred or so captures. In that peak hour I saw maybe 10 meteors. I captured only one decent frame.
My wife lost her glasses that night so the next evening we went back to look for them. Completely unexpectedly for a California summer evening, the sky exploded in colour. Perhaps one the most beautiful sunsets I've had the chance to photograph. And we found her glasses!

I like all very much - although all are near perfect I think the first one lack sharpness and also its like too much is going on (thats just my oppinion of course) - the third photo is perfect in all aspects in my view.
