Is markins US a going business? They seem to be out of stock on the q3 and q20 with the turn knob quick release.
No. Markins US is closed. Markins is still open. You can order items from their regular website, even if it states that you must purchase from their US site.

Markins Camera Ltd.
19676 71A Avenue
Langley, BC V2Y 3A4

As I reported - I called several times but the number could not be connected. A reverse search using the number said there was insufficient information for that phone number
As a former customer of the Markins parent company, I agree that it's surprising they don't seem to have done anything to deal with the problem
I know this is an old thread but just for the record Google Maps indicates this address is a residential neighborhood in a suburb of Vancouver BC in Canada.

Yes - As I noted earlier, the address is in Langley, BC- (not exactly a suburb of Vancouver tho')
It just means the tripod head business is not as hot as it once was, especially with all the cheap clones from China. I managed to get a BV Head from Korea through their NA distributor. Just needed to email the Korea branch.
I ordered an L-bracket a couple of weeks ago and have not heard a peep, nobody responding to emails. Wish I would have seen this before, off to paypal to dispute!

has anyone done business with them in the last 6 months?
Yes, a friend of mine bought an A9 L-bracket, which fits on the A1. It was delivered to her. Markins shut down their USA operations but presumably you can still purchase from their global site.
Below is the link to the location where you can select your goodies. If you have questions, email them directly from this location via the online form. If they don't respond, then don't order.
I just ordered a Q10i ballhead without a quick release clamp from Markins in Korea. To order from Markins you need to google “Markins global” and on their website select “other countries” to get to us pricing. I sent them an email first at “xxxxx” to make sure the item I wanted was in stock. It took about three weeks to get. Their packaging was very good and the experience was positive. I would order from them again.
Glad I found this thread. I own three Marlins ball heads and several tripod hubs. They have been great products. Was about to try and order something else from them but will see if I can get it direct from Korea.
I found this thread while conducting research on Markins ball heads. For those who may still wonder about Markins, who is a South Korean manufacturer, I wanted to provide my recent experience with them. Yes, Markins is still in business and still selling their range of ball heads, camera and lens plates, tripod parts and accessories, etc. I placed an order for the BV-24 kit that includes the Markins Q20i ball head, the BV-24 semi-gimbal head and the BV stopper. I received an email within a day confirming the order. A few days later, I received a tracking number. About two weeks after ordering I received the items, all well packaged and wrapped and in perfect condition. I ordered directly from the company HQ in S. Korea (there is no longer a direct North America distributer) using the following web address: http://www.markins.com/4.0/html_en/product.php Don't know how many people are aware of their products or still have any interest in them in light of the plethora of new, cheaper, ball heads, camera and lens plates, etc on the market today, but to confirm, Markins is still in business, has most products in stock, and ships to the US. My personal experience was very positive and I'm looking forward to using my new ball head/BV (Bird & Video) head.
