Here is one from my archives that I haven't seen in years. Mooney Falls. My friend John and I hiked down to Havasu Canyon packing our 4x5 cameras, the year was 1992. I enjoyed shooting 4x5, but I don't miss the weight and bulk.
That's an awesome shot. Very cinematic colour palette with the orange and teal. I love seeing amazing colours the natural world. And of course the rocks looks like a petrified waterfall, providing a wonderful contrast to the live waterfall. Perhaps a statement about the passage of time and the contrast of young versus old
This is a great shot. I love the look of the waterfall. You picked the right shutter speed to use, as the waterfall doesn't have too much of the "cotton candy" look but rather just enough to look visually appealing. The orange colored rock in the foreground shows excellent detail (which is not surprising since it was large format) and is the perfect contrast to the waterfall in the distance.
All in all, an outstanding composition. I do have one question, are you able to share with us what film you were using? It looks like it could have been Velvia, with those beautiful saturated colors.
Excellent work. I would hang it in my studio. And I would give a name. 'Frozen in Time Petrified Waterfall'. If my naming your work is offensive let me know. I will remove the name.
