Dave,
That's some really good light...wonderful work! #2 is just fantastic
Thanks Sunny! I find WP difficult to shoot sunrises. There's no comp to my satisfaction with the rising sun either in front or behind you. While I love this comp there's no opportunity to get that marvelous sidelight on the rock striations. I was actually shooting a comp in the opposite direction but saw that the color was going to be north that morning.

Beautiful images, Dave. I spent the night there in 2014, timed for the full moon. Unfortunately, I didn't get such a gorgeous sunset as this.
Thanks! IMO WP is not known for great atmospherics (especially compared to to the GC). Therefore my go/no-go is always based on the weather forecast. This was a large area of cloud cover that we've been watching from the PNW. And then strong winds made it even better!

Color gradation and variation is very nice
Thanks. Especially the first evening with the sky momentarily exploding in color was a challenge. I feel like I have to tone down what the RAW is recording.

Good set. I like the overall balance in the morning shot best.
Thanks. I definitely feel that was the strongest comp. Just wish the light was not so soft!

Good ones. I line the first evening the best
Thanks. That evening was gray sky all the way to sunset. It was AFTER sundown when the light finally got underneath the clouds. I managed to get off about 3 bracketted shots - and then it was all over!
