Fantabulous images "KD"!! The scale of these mountains is HUGE!!! The monastery is dwarfed against the background and I imagine it is not the size of a shed.! Just beautiful compositions all!! Well done my friend!!
Dan
thanks so much Dan. The Himalayan ranges are something else. These monasteries are always built on vantage points so they could have a very good view of the approach roads. I wonder many times what those walls must have seen and witnessed over the millenniums

Very nice KD, reminds me of my trip to India and Nepal including a (very touristy but fun) flight along the front of the Himalayas showing us Mount Everest!

Lovely stuff there. The colours you got look real pretty.
This place is definitely special. Although it is getting crowded there these days, it is still a worthwhile trip. It has a different charm in winters altogether.

thanks Gautam, there is a lot of tension with China and Pakistan these days at this beautiful location. what a shame, though. I agree about the winters there. Maybe one of these days

These are absolutely fantastic images! The amazing color of the lakes reminds me of Crater Lake here in Oregon, which also has beautiful color.
thanks so much Ornate. these lakes change colors during the day, based on the light, clouds, etc. and yes they are very similar to the Crater Lake. however there are many shades of green and blue with these lakes.
