p.1 #1 · #917 Mini Dachshund

I didn't want a dog when my wife informed me that we were getting one... I wasn't happy about the decision, but he's slowly but surely won me over and now he's one of my favorite subjects... I don't even like little dogs... But I think I've made an exception...

Had one for many years-- went to the wife in the divorce (and finally passed away at age 15). They are incredibly loyal dogs.. Can be stubborn at times but miss mine...

Can be stubborn?! :-)… Stubborn loyal and very, very smart!

I just prefer bigger dogs, but this one carries him self like a big dog… It’s kind of funny actually.

They were bread to hunt badgers, I believe. Dragging an enraged badger out of his den isn't a job for the faint-hearted.

TRUTH! I never knew that Dachshund was german for "Badger Hound" until we got him. He's our first Dachshund, and for a little guy, he walks around with a chip on his shoulder for sure!

My son bought a long haired Dachshund when he was 21 and Squirt became my constant companion for the next 13 years, until Friday March 13th.

Squirt had a great personality and would take on any big dog in town, then take me home, cock his head and say "where is my treat?"

Squirt taught our Beagle Duke to bark.

Have a long and great life with your new friend.
