I’m always checking the edges of my clients’ compositions when I teach. I’m a little ocd about it. 😁

Jim,
After I read your post, I went back and play with the image more and prefer the version showing the entire arch. Thanks again!

Congrats! Your exposure and PP is flawless. Being the first to choose your comp is extremely rare. I'm guessing you did not get much sleep the night before.

very nice all around. I had not thought of doing an f18 for the sun rays ... good idea!

Beautiful image! It looks so serene. But the mental image of 100 photographers out there means the reality of being out there was something less than serene.

Mesa is definitely on the bucket list Fred. I am surprised there were only 100 photographers there. If you were the first to arrive, how early did you get there?
Congrats Fred!!!! A fantastic composition! Getting there early, cold or not, allows you time to reflect on what you are about to do. When time is ready...you are also!!
Again great composition!!

Cool shot Fred. If I had to offer any critical feedback, it might be worth redoing the top of the arch. It feels a bit flat in contrast with a little halo in the rock to sky transition.
Any suggestions on when I should arrive during Thanksgiving week? Forecast says it should be sub 40° temps at sunrise but it's still a holiday week so I don't know what to make of it.
Any ideas would be great. I was planning on being there an hour before sunrise, but am open to suggestions/experience.
