This little guy was very tolerant of people, so tolerant that one concerned photographer had a guy from the local bird rehab centre come out to see if it was injured. When the guy tried to catch him in the net the owl would fly a short distance and then go to ground again. After 4 attempts the worker decided it probably had a soft tissue injury but since it could still fly away they would leave it be with no way to net it and hope for the best. We left the little guy alone after that but he did provide some beautiful portraits for us.
The owl on the fence post and the one on the big stump/snag were different owls.
