You're very kind Bpinsm. I think this lens is an equalizer. After years of photographing eagles I can usually capture peak action, but I was disappointed with the sharpness of my Sigma lenses. The 500PF is easier to handle than the big zooms and the sharpness is outstanding. Although $3500 is still a lot of money I think the lens is a good value. Hopefully I can add one to bag soon.
Just curiuous, have you tried the 300PF and 1.4TC combo? If so what did you think of it? I use it on wildlife not birds. It works well but you've got me thinking about making a change.

I have not tried the 300, but am now interested in giving it a try. The size and ease of use are attractive.
