I've shot there before, however it was at sunset in the summer. Last time we were there was in 2018 and it was a little rainy. I was a little surprised there weren't more photographers around, but when I captured this, there were two other photographers on the shore beside my son and I.

My beloved park is getting too busy.

I know what you mean.
Visitation to US nat'l parks is way way up in the last few years. My local national park - Glacier (the US one) saw 1+ million visitors in the month of July 2017. It was the first time any US national park recorded over 1 million visitors in a month - and it wasn't Yosemite of Yellowstone - it was Glacier - and its not that a large of a park. Neither is it amenable to coach tours like Yellowstone. Just try getting a camp site - front country or backcountry. Speaking of backcountry - they have had to institute a policy that one cannot queue at the backcountry office at Apgar Village before 4 am and you cannot crash in your car nearby waiting for 4. [not sure how they enforce that]. The office opens at 7. By 7, there will be 2-3 dozen people in line at that one backcountry office (there are others, but that is the busiest one). It can't be much fun being a park ranger these days!!
This year I will strive to find the beauty in the less iconic places until this following of photographers on Instagram runs its course and the next craze takes over and the strain on our parks eases some what (but I am not holding my breath)!

Unfortunately have to agree. In my planning for upcoming trips I am trying to focus more and more on less-visited places which has its positives, but also makes planning a bit harder.
