Oh very nice on your Coopers Hawk! They are the neighborhood terror to the little birds I've watched them chase birds in thick brush and then pounce and screech out to try to flush them.
Glad you had this close encounter, they are intense and beautiful!

These are amazing images for a wild hawk. We see Cooper's frequently (trying to snag the customers at our bird feeders) but they will never let me get close. You got some impressive images!
Dave
Thanks so much Dave. At one point I was kneeling down trying to shots . It jumped down from the fence about 10 feet in front of me, it was too close to even focus. I knew if I moved it would take off. I just had to settle for watching him.

Very nice! We get one that visits every once in a while. Amazing how they dart right through the rose bush. Sometimes he/she is successful most times not.
Thank you !. They are amazing to watch. I, too, have seen them go into my honeysuckle mess of a vine , amazing

Yes, a wild bird. I was so amazed that it was not the lease bit intimidated by my presence. I've seen him/her around the garden several times.
I have found them to be amazingly fearless when it comes to humans. I had one almost hit my head with the tip of its wing while buzzing my bird feeder a few years ago. We took the feeders down for this time of year as it was just a buffet for the hawks.
