While shooting Short-eared Owls one winter sunrise, they were flying in the shade as the sun was just above the horizon. In processing I fit the white balance to the bird, thus letting the sunlit areas go bright, giving the on fire look. Some may not like this, but I thought it was fun. The ISO's were high, so I could keep some shutter speed. C & c welcome.

Some may not like them? Hmmm I think you have something special in this set Rex
I am glad you explained your method and thoughts because it makes the images make sense to me on lighting and light balance. I really like the turbulent fierce sun storm in the BG, powerful! You have some great looks at the SEO, what an entertaining subject, love those eyes I enjoyed the entire set, very special, very cool!
