This is a shot from the popular Bear Lake. We spent some time in Colorado last weekend searching for Fall colors a little early, but didn't realize how far behind everything was this year so we shot some other things that didn't rely on color instead. I really wasn't a fan of this area during the bad light during the day and didn't want to stay but I'm glad we did because after the sun set it was a different place.
Very nice. Interesting use of the rocks in the foreground. For me, the complementary colour palette helps with the visual appeal and feel of the image.
Check out Grand Lake, the colors should be in full force next weekend near the Tonahutu TH.
Oh anytime I'm near the area we stop in Grand Lake. It's my wife and I's favorite little mountain town and one day we hope to have a summer house there
Very nice. Worth hanging on the wall (and thats my highest praise) and inspiring to do more night shooting. How was the moon in this picture (up, partial)? Thanks for sharing. Scott

Thanks so much, Scott! The moon was about half and was not up yet (Had about another hour to rise). The sun had just set a bit ago and there was still some light hitting the top of the peak from it which seemed to last forever
.
Thank you all so much! I got pretty lucky with the composition, I almost didnt even shoot here and after a couple left sitting on these rocks I happened to peek and see the way the rock mimicked the mountain and decided to stick around.
