The review at lenstip.com is already available in english.
By the way, the sample shots at all focal lengths (but more noticeable close to the wide end) show tilting. A huge tilting at 14-18mm. The left side of the image is focused much farther compared to the right side. E.g. the near floor tiles are tack sharp at the right and very blurry at the left. With the camera perfectly leveled. On the contrary, the far subjects are tack sharp at the left and blurry at the right. Even very noticeable at F8.
I'd return such a lemon after the first casual shots :-). It seems that Sigma doesn't tests all lenses with their famous special tool (or they aren't manufactured so tough to survive after their shipping travel).

I got just the ND1000 and not the set of three. But since 0.3mm is already too thick, I‘m pretty sure the problem would be the same with the set.
I‘m just not sure if there exist samples of the lens with a thicker slit.

thats a bummer. It looks like the nose is suppose to tuck under as seen here.

Agreed, your copy looks fine. It looks close to perfect at 14mm, and only slighlty asymmetrical a the long end. Given we are talking about wide open performance, that's rather impressive for a zoom. By F5.6 it should be great across the whole range (and noticeably better than a Sony 12-24 in the corners).
My previous comment about FC assessment methods was in relation to those lens reviews that use general 3D scenes to assess corner sharpness. If you don't have objects in all four corners at the same distance from the camera (e.g. a flat surface, or everything at infinity) the assessment of FC will clearly be compromised by DOF considerations....Show more →
Thanks rvh23 for your assessment. Well, I'll keep my copy and will forget about Sony 12-24
agree with your comments about 3D landscapes to check corner acuteness. It is not an easy task to discern about what it is FC and what DOF.

Best
I should of course have said it's best to have the whole scene at equal distance to assess FC rather than just the corners. The latter suffices only to assess asymmetry. And even for a 'flat' scene multiple shots that are focused for different parts of the frame are really needed to separate FC from other causes of softness.
But if you take multiple shots (rather than just one) you can actually use a 3D scene fairly easily, at least for "infinity", by determining the optimal focus adjustment for a distant object when it's placed in different parts of the frame. For closer objects you can do the same but have to be increasingly careful to keep the perpendicular distance to the camera the same as you move the object in the frame. Much easier to use a flat surface in that case.

I hope it would be a variation in the filter and not the lens. I am going to purchase 1 filter and try and report back. How long did it take to get filter delivered after you purchased?
I only see ebay as sole source to purchase from and coming from china??

I ordered the filter via Ebay.uk (using the express shiping option). It was delivered very fast directly from China. Altogether it took 3.5 days between ordering and delivery.

My guess is that there are some variations/tolerances on the lens side that leads to this problem. If the slit/slot would be just 0.05-0.1mm thicker the filter would very likely fit. The 0.1mm thick Lee filter sits rather loose in the slot.
Therefore please report back your experience with the Kase filter on your lens. I'm very interested in the result.

I received mine today! First impressions:
While i knew it was relatively small, it still strikes. The thick profile of a usually UWA lens is totally not here! Also it feels like a 600 gram lens, even though it's 800. The weight distribution is very good. Build quality is very good (even sturdier then my nikon 14-24mm). Zoom ring is stiff but not annoyingly so. And suppurting the lens there (good even distribution of weight with Sony A7RIII), doenst make you zoom accidently.
While the back screen can be deceiving a bit, so far first impressions are good, sharp and contrasty lens (no contest, beats the nikon 14-24mm). Cloudy day today, hope it's sunny soon (want to test it torough in 14 day return period), but first signs are very good.
A Sony 16-35mm GM was posted used for 1700 euro (a new record low), wich made me debate to send it back, but 70mm is quite important for me (in 24-70mm over 16-35mm) because telezooms start at 70mm, and my favorite one even at 100mm (100-400mm gm). This Sigma is a much more suitable wide angle zoom addition for me. I know i will also love that 14mm in forests at time for very wide views. But if Sigma centering quality keeps up, i'll be glad, and it would make the choice the best one.

I ordered the filter yesterday with expedited shipping. I am very eager to see the fit as likely others are as well and will report as soon as I get it.
If you hear back from Kase, please update. Their communication with me has been sloooooow.

According to some measurements has the slot in the lens a thickness of 0.29mm and the Kase filter a thickness of 0.3mm. Both have for sure some production tolerances. Maybe +- 0.05mm for the lens and +-0.01mm for the filter. This would explain why some Kase filters fit in some lenses and some not.
At the moment I am trying to explain the problem to Kase, which is not easy (and currently not successful).

I already got Haida rear filter set. Here is a my first impression.
- When put filter on a field of view will wider a bit maybe around 0.2 - 0.3mm. 14mm will become 13.8- 13.7mm.
- Excellence color balance almost no color shift. But i'm not test with color chart yet.
- Absolute zero vignette.
- Sharpness are same with or without filter even on the corner.
- With ND 10 stop on. Auto focus of my A7RIII working normally on day time.
- You will get slightly more flare with filter.
- The filter are easy to clean.
- Filter are lock only oneside because Haida dont have a nose like Kase. So it might not perfect parallel to lens element but i dont see it effect on a shot.
- Least expensive compare to Kase.
- Filter box are too big but it well protect and easy to put filter on.
Does anbody here has a good idea how to either safely remove the lower nose on the filter (is filing of 0.3mm glas possible without breaking it?) or slightly widen the lens slot (with wich tool)?

Thanks for your first impressions. I haven't done any testing with my Haida filters (besides checking the fit in the lens).
Have you also tested for changes of field curvature?
And if you say corner sharpness is unchanged, does this include shooting wide open at f/2.8? Did you focus in the center or at the corner or both?

I think it will be safer if you make a slot on lens bigger.

Yes i already shoot both with wide open and small aperture. I focus at short and long distance. I also manual focus both center and corner but this lens have some field curve at short focus distance. Although this is just my rough test.
