Currently visiting Acadia National Park, and braved the crowds to go visit the lighthouse for sunset last night.
We couldn't believe our luck when we saw a sailboat approaching right near peak light as well. That feeling was tempered by the idiot who decided that was a good time to climb out on one of the farthest rocks in front of the crowd of photographers to go through a series of poses in front of the lighthouse. He was undeterred by several people calling out and asking if he knew that everyone was trying to get a shot at that moment. I know that no one here would be surprised by the complete selfishness this person displayed, but the timing could not have been worse. <sigh> Regardless, I was able to get this shot when he finally cleared out, just before the sailboat rounded the point.

What happened to you happens all the time, unfortunately. I was at Mono Lake once with friends to capture the sunrise. Got there extra early so we could position our tripods, etc. Just as the sun was coming up I had two different people walk right in fromt of me to take a picture. One of them even tried to set up a tripod directly in front of where I was standing!

I've had it happen plenty of times, as well, but none quite as blatant, selfish, or ill-timed as this occurrence.
