Hi all -
I'll be in Acadia National Park next week. We'll have 7 days to spend in the area, and the focus will be split between family fun and photography. Looking for advice on can't miss photo locations this time of year, as well as if there is a best time of day to hit them. Primarily interested in in landscapes or seascapes. Locations can be heavily-shot or lesser-known; this is the first time I'll have visited Acadia, and we have no plans to return in the near future.

I went to Acadia last year, researched everything with the plan being one landscape shot during a family trip.
I settled on Boulder beach at sunrise and glad I did. Hike down an easy little path to the beach and carefully pick your way close to the water where the rocks are still wet. Wet rocks will reflect the sun's glow. Get down low with a wide angle lens and face West-ish down the coast and East into the sun for shots of each. With all the rocks knocking into each other with each wave, it is a bit surreal. Bring a polarizer for certain and maybe a 3 or 6 stop ND, and something to clean spray off your front filter. I was all alone except right at sunrise a thousand mosquitoes assailed me (put deet on your clothes!)

Awesome, that's one of the spots that I found that I'm looking forward to also! Good to know it's as good as advertised.
A little bit of a tangent, but since I've only shot at freshwater locations before, what do I need to do to keep my gear safe and clean? I'm shooting with a 5DIV and all L lenses, so everything is weather-sealed, but I know that saltwater spray is a whole 'nother ballgame...
It was calm when I was there. I didn't do too much other than keep my hands near the camera at all times. Occ I had to pick up my gear for a larger wave that would have sprayed my 5d4. But it's the closer waves that give that nice blur around the rocks.
You could get some clear plastic trash bags and gaffers tape. I worried more about falling onto the boulders in the dark. It was a great experience watching the sunrise, hearing the knocking boulders, and no other tourists.
