This was from sunset last Monday. The sky was overcast and there were some breezes in the area, which made picking a sunset spot somewhat challenging. There was some clearing forecast in the evening so I took the chance that the sun might be able to light up the clouds and hiked up to Heart Lake. Fortunately the lake was relatively calm when the light show began...
I personally like this, but when I submitted a similar photo, I was chastised for having centered the mountain, even though there was no other area within the frame to go with it. I'd say this is a pretty fine capture Kyle. The "glow" is reminiscent of a Kinkade painting.

Love the comp, colors and exposure. My only other thought is that this would also make a lovely 16:9 comp - by taking the excess off the bottom, which would put the whole comp into a nice rule of thirds.

Sometimes things just lend themselves to being centered. Reflection photos often fall into that category. Like anything else, the result won't appeal to everyone. Thanks for your thoughts.

Beautiful image with great colors. I like the centered composition. Hope to make it up there myself one day.
Worth the trip - one of my favorite spots to just enjoy the view.

Very nice, why so small?
Thanks - I just never updated my posting size from Fred's previous restrictions for the landscape forum.

Good call Dave - I have a 16x9 crop on my computer desktop right now. It does work well.
