I felt as if the framing contributes positively to the picture, but if it takes away your focus it’s obviously not the case.
Her friend and protector! Great image! Border doesn't really bother me and really would not have commented about it being a distraction because the subjects are the center of my focus.

Excellent shot that the family must love. I like the framing with the ivy running along the right border. I am often averse to white borders, but I did not notice it at all this time until it was commented upon. So, I guess it wasn't distracting for me! I think the appealing nature of your subjects kept my attention where you intended it to be.
