A few images from the dormant Haleakala volcano on the beautiful island of Maui. Dodging and burning was used to emphasize certain features.

1. Detail - An amazing mix of reds, whites, greys, and browns.

2. Detail - The hiking trails sure are evident when viewed from a higher angle.

3. Detail- Love the whites that are mixed in with the reds.

4. Pano - Lots of cinder cones and eroded slopes. An interesting geological mix.

Looks like a barren scene from a distant planet!!! Very interesting shots. Thanks for sharing them!

Thanks kindly Jeffery. Many thousands of people visit this location for the first time each year, but I'm sure that each person feels a sense of other-worldlyness. It is a visually interesting spot, and lends itself to photo/processing exploration.

Ken, I was on vacation when you posted these and just now noticed them. These are exceptional. You did a great job processing here, the soft colors and textures are wonderful.
