Yet another beautiful set Rob! Most if not all are simply stunning captures.

Just tell the wife that you wear the pants in the family and YOU are keeping the 400III for yourself and she just has to "buck-up" and use the DO.

Make sure to give me a call before you tell her though. That way I can swing by the emergency room to pick you up afterwards when they release you.

All very nice images! believe it or not I cleared a few offensive leaves that were on the right hand side of the perch where the red-headed barbet was! (about a month ago!) at bosque DTM.

Cheers!

Glad you did then. It was one of the few places that had perches we went to and I thought they were terrible. Most are flat and terrible angle for the light. It was actually very slow there. I was happy to see the barbets a lifer for me.

That's a collection to be proud of. Your Resplendent Quetzal (tail and all) capture is a killer shot!

Great photographs. These are getting me very excited for my trip to Corcovado Costa Rica early March. Are any of your Costa Rica albums on Flickr from Corcovado?

Very nice shots. I saw a male quetzal from the back with his tail feathers extended and they were a brilliant iridescent green. They were blocked in part by the undergrowth and I could not leave the trail to get a better view but it was still an amazing sight and one I have not seen in any photographs of the bird.

Yes the tails have great iridescent colors, like hummingbirds you need just the right angle and light. This is the best I have of the tail colors from a previous trip. This was a young one with a shorter tail.
