During the American Civil War, both the Union and Confederate Armies used the bridge in the Battle of Gettysburg and its aftermath.
Before it was haunted, it was a bridge built in 1852. Sach's (Sauches) bridge is a “Town Truss” bridge, which is a lattice-like bridge. Almost ten years later, it became an important bridge during the Civil War. On July 1st, 1863 the bridge was crossed by I Corps of the Union Army marching towards Gettysburg. The Confederate Armies also used the bridge when entering and fleeing the Union troops and the Battle of Gettysburg.
Crosses: Marsh Creek
Built: c. 1854
Closed: May 9, 1968
Total length: 100 ft (30 m)
