My typical work is outdoors, in natural light, but I've been itching to branch out...especially since we moved somewhere where there are actual seasons and it's too cold to want to go out and shoot in the winter (or at least too cold to drag my toddlers out!).
I'm trying out a new editing style and would love some feedback. I'm new to studio lighting and finding it challenging (also having my kids pose for me at 4 and 3 years old is quite challenging as well ).
I'm going for a "painterly" look and hoping that it comes across well. Any C&C is appreciated - thanks for looking.

Every single one of these is wonderful! ... and not just the subjects, I might add!! Number 4 is my favorite, too. "Benchmark Good" in my mind. Unforgettable, all.

Excellent compositions. In the last portrait my input would be to tone down the luminance or noise reduction of the background to give more separation between the model. The first pic is what got my attention and I think they should have the same overall look and feel to them. Less digital, more organic. Great job!

i like the posing and lighting but the colors are destroyed with this effect - the boys grey shirt and backgrounds look posterized and the blotchiness is unpleasant and not painterly. All but the first also have a cross processed coloring which is definitely not a painterly color palette. I am clearly in the minority but I think you can do better.
