I'll be in Dallas for a couple of days on business in July. Is it possible to schedule a shoot for July 15th or 16th? I'd love to come during one of your regular scheduled sessions but my finances & schedule aren't always super flexible.
Everything is still a go see ya'll on saturday . you are in the country so dress accordingly , jeans and not so nice shoes incase it's muddy. here is my cell # if you are running late 972-746-8538
It looks as though i may have FINALLY found someone to come out with me to this again! (Gf and I broke up shortly before we were going to come out last summer, D'OH!) Justin (Dentman on here) and I are thinking about making the trek down from Pittsburgh. What else is around to shoot? We'd love some abandoned buildings. Gotta be some good critter stuff. Maybe some of those famous 3" dragons!
I wish I would have had my camera when I had the oppurtunity that I did up in here in Montana. There was a place just out of columbia falls, mt called Wild Eye's. It was built just for photographers and had many animals. I used to live up by there and had befriended the manager and trainer. They had 6 or 7 siberian tigers, one which was a white one, spotted leopord, cougar, male barbary(sp?) coast lion( largest lion of them all, extinct now in the wild, average 200 lbs larger then the african lions), two timber wolves, 6 month old baby golden tabby tiger( sort of the color of tabby house cat, no black stripes, more rare than a white tiger, I got to play with and feed, also tried to play with me , little to rough, had the red marks on my neck to prove it, lol) russian brown bear(looks identical to a grizzley), black bear, badger, baby lynx(which my fiance and I got to play with , almost like a house cat, one of the best experiences of my life, the cat lived in the house with the trainer). The owners of the buisness didn't want it anymore and was trying to sell the property it was on, so the trainer applied to take the animals to another location in the same area and build new facilities. But due to the ignorance of Montanan's, the fish, wildlife and parks denied his request after public hearings and all the animals were shipped out of state. Would have been an awesome photographic oppertunity, too bad their gone.

We are working on the schedule for the remainder of 2005 - probably 2 dates in December and then we'll pick back up in January. Here's a couple of shots from this morning.
We had a nice group and enjoyed some nice light to go along with them
I just wanted to say thanks again to Tom and Trey for putting this together. I attended yesterday's shoot and, after getting over the awe factor of being so close to these animals (just like Tom and Trey warned us about), ended up getting some nice shots. I'm still going through them, but wanted to share this one... We were taking shots of the lioness (Sugar) when someone, I believe it was Jim, accidentally dropped his ET-86 lens hood in with her. She pounced on it, played for a while and eventually we heard the crunching sounds...
But hey, what a souvenier!!! And that lens hood really got Sugar playing, just like a house cat ... a real...B I G...cat!! Finally, it is a credit to the Canon lens hood that the tooth indentations didn't go through the plastic hood .... although right now it does look like it is perfectly shaped to cover a pair of binoculars!
I got some really fine shots .. I'm sure I'll do the 6 hour trip again, it was worth it! Thanks to Tom and Trey for this great opportunity, and for the help this provides to the fine folks who rescued and rehabilitated these cats who would have otherwise been put down, or lived out a wretched existence.

And thank you too, for your sacrifice, so that we could all get some good shots of Sugar. And they said she was going to be hard to get good shots of...
