Great captures Keith, It is nice to hear that there are some good opportunities. Hope to see you there some time. Bruce
Bruce, thanks! When you come up, check out both the west-90 and the east-90 areas of the Samish Flats. Both are nice for owls, eagles, hawks, and sometimes swans.

Super set Keith. 15 and 16 are my top pics.
I agree with Morris that some could use more noise reduction.
The D850 is an excellent camera; however, it doesn't have near the speed and ISO ability of the D5.
Thanks for sharing.
Jason
Jason, thanks for your picks and thanks for the feed-back on the noise! That is true - the D850 doesn't have the speed (or buffer) of the D5 and the D850 doesn't have the ISO abilities of the D5. And of course, the D5 doesn't have the resolution of the D850. While I use the D850 primarily for landscape work, I do use it occasionally for action photography (especially when I think cropping will be needed). Thanks again!
I really like the compression of that 800. Yes, I believe my D850 acquires and holds AF just as well as my D500. The more I use the D850, the more I like it, especially its sensor. And I appreciate the 9fps and deep buffer. I almost returned it at first, and am increasingly happy I kept it. Had to grow into it.

Robert, thanks! I have really grown to like the D850 for its versatility and capability. If I could only have one camera, the D850 would be it.

I agree: If I could have just one camera, the D850 would be it!
Awesome shots Keith. We have had a dud of a year for our SEOs on the island so nice to see that you have some cooperative subjects to point your lens at.

Great set of shorties Keith. I also agree about NR in some of the bgds.
Herb, thanks for the feed-back - much appreciated!

Geoff, thank you! We didn't see many SEOs near us last year, so this is a nice treat. I hope you are enjoying your new Nikon 500mm f/5.6 PF lens. I hope to get mine soon.
All great images with great lighting on the owls and clean backgrounds. Even the shot with the owl close to the brush uses what would otherwise be a distraction to provide some context and does not interfere with the image of the owl. Exceedingly well done!
