This year I visited Baffin Island twice, about two weeks apart and this photo comes from my first trip over there in the mid of August. In the past years, I trekked on Baffin Island a bit later, when the fall was in its full bloom, or even when the winter was already spreading in the valleys and over the mountains. This time I saw a different, more summer-like Baffin Island, the one with patches of lush green grass, more plentiful rivers and longer days. It shocked me how much of a difference two weeks can make in the Arctic. But regardless of the season, the raw splendour of Mt. Thor (visible on the photo) keeps inspiring me and makes me think about future adventures on Baffin Island.
