Spent about an hour tonight updating fw's on Sigma MC-11, Sigma USB dock, A9, A7RIII and the Sigma 150-600C. Will test the A9 and 150-600C tomorrow and report back. When I used the A7RIII + Metabones with the Sigma it was not good, hoping for vastly better experience using the MC-11 and A9 this time.

Whayne, since you have the Canon 500mm f/4 Mark II, I would try that lens on the updated MC-11 using your A9.
A quick update on the A9 + MC-11 + 150-600C combo. As promised I got to shoot waders this morning at a local lake. The AF was quite snappy and seemed as fast as I recall on my 5D4. I took 240 shots and only threw away about 15 that missed focus totally, possibly operator error. Threw away another 20 or so due to slight focus errors, but mostly caused by the birds constant head movement resulting in sharp wing shoulders but missing the eye.
Overall I was quite impressed. I did try some bif, but they were terns and a long way away and would have been 95% crops anyway. So I still to do some more testing.
I have an excellent copy of the 150-600C, so IQ was very good for a budget zoom considering I only shot at 600mm wide open.
I'll post some shots ASAP.
Can't wait to try my 500 f/4L IS II + 1.4x TC III combo now and see a step up in IQ.
