This was actually shot in 2014. From what I was told there was a high sugar content in the trees due to favorable weather conditions leading up the color change. This was an exceptional year for the amount of red in the trees. Guess we got lucky.

Great shot; really like the symmetry and the colours. I particularly like your inclusion of the wooden structures (stairs?) on the left-hand side of the image; they add to said symmetry as well as a point of entry into the frame. Well done.

Thanks Joe. The wooden structure is actually a boat ramp used to slide small row boats from a barn up in a meadow, down to the lake.
