From what I've used and seen, Cosina seems to get more out of Sony's dynamic range than other lens ranges. A lot of high mountain country has delicate highlights you want to preserve. You can see it here in #1 - at Rangdum at the western edge of the Tibetan Cultural World (in present day India). Not much need for f1.4, I want more scenery, not less.
I get ETTR with no exposure compensation much of the time despite not being an adherent. Light 21s are fabulous P&S options even in ultra long days when the driver needs many short breaks. This one started at 4.30am, lasted 12 hours over car-killing rocky terrain, complete with army checkposts, a smouldering regional civil war and a shakedown by a local taxi union.

Slow lenses have a head start in the bokeh stakes, it's one reason I wanted this one. It has a lot of near-focus grit too, and sweet image depth. Not to mention colour that never fails. You could say I like it a lot.

Haven't had a wide I like in a while. Fun to reconnect with this perspective. These are just first day walk about test shots. My city's gone dark though... dark when I get to work, dark when I go home. So I really have no idea if this thing is centered or not, or even sufficiently sharp in the center.

So I just picked up this lens at the holiday savings price. Taken a few shots over a couple of days. The only profile in LR sems to be the Voigtlander VM 21 f/4 Color Skopar. Is that the best match (or is that THIS lens)?
I love the size and weight for a small/light travel/walk-around-with-the-wife kit. Hoping for something in the 18mm range for when I want a little wider. Just bought a Batis 18, and it is surprisingly light, BUT way to big for that small kit/bag so I dont think I'll keep it as I have the 16-35 GM.

First two images are right up my street!
I think that's the profile I use too. And no, it's not this lens.

Thanks Lee! I think. Lol, I'm assuming "right up my street" is a Brit colloquialism similar to "right up my alley" in the USA, because these were taken in New Jersey (as opposed to Jersey).

Yes. It means I like them very much & they are the sort of images I like to look for myself

Been to Ljubljana last weekend of 2019 with the family, went to see a show Cirque Eloize: Hotel (Very good, if ever near you it`s well worth a visit) from Quebec, Canada... also had a stroll down old town by the river - the little guy did great, perfect walk around little lens... also couples well with the "big" brother CV 1.2/40mm... :-)

Thanks Steve... it is charming to sit down at one of the (now) many bars/restaurants by the river... but crowded... if I look back at my college years I'd have to say this is a totaly different city... :-)

Before driving here on the first weekend in 2020 I had hoped to be able to post these sunrise pics at the Pernica lake in the Landscape board but had no luck with clouds, the skies on that frosty morning were clear, not a single tiny little cloud to be seen anywhere...
frozen lake + clear skies - I guess the long exposure was a bit of an overkill
but hey, color skopar and Nisi 75M work great together if anyone is interested...

Another thing I noticed is that although this is the tourist center of the country's largest city, there were no con men, beggars, or other annoyances, like the other places in Europe are plagued with these days. There were just enough street performers to be entertaining and not intrusive. I don't know how Slovenia is managing this, but I hope it remains this way.

Yeah, that is one big up side of living here... if you look for these things you will find/see them but it's nowhere near the scale of rest of europe... I too hope it stayes this way... :-)
