Amazing set of images Eric....looks like you had a very productive trip 500PF or not
The green/purple blotchiness from the SmugMug embeds is present in some of these that sort of takes away from the perfection of these images. I can't recall if you ever found a different way to embed that eliminated that artifact.

Hi Eric...
Great to see you posting your "cats" again. All of them are wonderful, but your bird photographs are a very pleasant surprise and so well done.
Thanks
Tom
Thanks Tom....we really didn't spend too much time on birds and the ones I got I found....always a trade off when time and light is of the essence.

That's some trip, the rhino line out is something else.
Thanks Tim....I was pretty shocked to see 5 together and then when they aligned themselves like that it was pretty amazing.

Another Dark Continent super set Eric. All are lovely, but 2, 6, 7, and 8 stand out ~ Ron
BTW - how's the shoulder?
Thanks Ron....Africa rarely disappoints....the shoulder is intact....I opted to hold off surgery....risk/reward and all that....for now, I will put up with it until I can't anymore...thanks for asking.

Anyways, TFS
Geoff
Doh! I still think it's because I down res to about 150-200kb(and 72dpi) and that brings in that artifact. I suspect that the best way to avoid that is to show higher res images....or maybe not
Thanks for the nice comments regardless of the artifacts
Excellent set of images! Nice to see some big cats and leopards are my favorite. It was nice of the rhinos to line up for your shot. It's also good the elephant didn't kill you. Which of the South African parks was this? Kruger? Sabi?

Dave
Yes, it would have put a damper on the whole trip if I put on my best impression of Flat Stanley. I was at MalaMala which is in the Sabi Sands as part of the Greater Kruger National Park....I've stayed there before, my first visit was 1977

Excellent set Eric, truly enjoyed them all several times. Looking forward to the post .
Glad you were able to get through the shoulder issues and make the trip.
Oh, and by the way on foot with an elephant 10’ away, what were you thinking
Birdie
Thanks Birdie....you are too kind...it was a wonderful trip made even better by not getting trampled....but it was a highlight and something I never thought I would have the chance to do....pick the right elephant in the right situation and a guide that knows what he or she is doing and it's possible

Thanks Kim, I was fortunate to have quite a few very special moments and some which don't translate photographically like being at eye level with a leopard from about 6 feet away as she came to sit beside us.

Thanks Greg....having that guy growl was an absolute highlight....I do wish we had been the subject of his ire but then again, he did walk straight towards us later which I suspect he wouldn't have done if we had pissed him off.
