As mentioned in my round one, when I visited the park in May, the snow banks were still on the sides of the roads and some of the water bodies had ice on them. Every day was a new adventure. The vastness of the park is mind boggling and so is the diversity of the wildlife. Hence I am posting pictures of the entire cross section of the environment i.e. birds, mammals and landscapes. I was lucky to have experienced the bears upclose and personal and at a distance as well
They had just come out of their hibernation so feeding on the grasses was the main occupation
Thanks to all of you who have helped me grow by providing constant comments, feedback, C&C and support. I really appreciate it. Of course a big thanks to David Turko who was instrumental in making this trip happen and to Paulie and Barb for making it an awesome outing.
Please do provide C&C as you deem fit.
Here goes

1- upset mama bear. she passed by our car quite close by followed by the playful cubs

2 -why did the bear cubs cross the road

3 - Beldings squirrel also feeding or its a toothpick - had battle scars on its chest

4 - one of YNP's natural wonder

5 Mountain magpie

6 Harlequin duck male- preening a very long shot.

7- Bison mother and calf at water crossing

8 - Tetons

9 - the famous Sow # 399 with her cubs

10 - barrows golden eye female

11- badger cubs

12 - a 30 second encounter with a coyote in morning light.

13-more of the stark and ethereal landscape

14 - why did the cub cross the log bridge?

15 steaming geyser

16 - tree swallow on a tree trunk

17 Cinnamon by the snow trying to feed off the dried grass

18 - end to end grizzly cubs

19 - happy family

20 -mountain bluebird

21 - famous waterfalls (called the niagara of the west) :) I just made it up

22- Unhappy sub adult sow

23 -Barrow's golden eye male

24- succulent grass - yummy

Hi KD,

overall a quality set. A few nits:
4 lack of contrast probably caused by processing
21 add some vibrancy and saturation
23 whites could be brighter

The others are all super and your images have brought back wonderful memories from our trips to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons

Lower Yellowstone Falls looks much better. The white on the duck could still be brighter. The hot spring needs a rework.

KD - Second killer set ! You did it again my friend. Love the variety. Since I had no luck seeing the badger with her cubs I'm sure enjoying your shots of them. Love the black bear cubs and 399 with her cubs in the Tetons. Thanks again for sharing your YNP/TNP trip shots. I have thoroughly enjoyed viewing your work.

Excellent set KD! Love the variety you presented here.
Being that you welcome critiques, one nit I see is a cyan cast in most of the black bear shots. Other than that I think you nailed all of these very nicely.

Clearly--a trip that was absorbed across the scales from small critters to grand landscapes! I enjoyed looking through your lens, KD. Having lived 'out West' for many years, I know the wide, open and forested spaces are mind-boggling. So much to explore; often rushed for time.

Anyway, my only nit is that a few of the bear pictures (1, 19 and 24) have a blue / magenta cast to them. Could be my uncalibrated monitor too...

The pictures are a treat to view!
