The sunset/lake shot would stand alone as a phenomenal image without the dancer...she just puts the icing on the cake. It’s very convincing as a composite for me with the lighting on the back of her being minimal and then more realistic (I’m still a beginner, getting more of an eye for picking out that stuff).
I also like the lines of her legs following the railing/posts, both vertically and horizontally.
Voted!
Thanks Derrick!
You've been coming up with some pretty great images this summer, Derrick. But I don't think you're sharing them here on FM. I think you should.
I worked quite a long time to make the actual image of her and the dock, and the dock over on the left, match up with the lake and sunset. It helps that I was shooting into the same direction of the actual sunset, so there wouldn't be any funny (as in weird) directions of light on the subjects.
Beautiful work, however, I noticed a little artifact on the right side of the image, I have circled it in green for you to take a closer look at your source PSD file.
I'm a little late to the party but i saw this one and just had to give you a huge compliment, it is gorgeous!
The colors, the fill light, the purity of the whites and the excellent color balance all work for me

thanks! That was a remnant of the compositing. Fortunately, I caught it before I sent this to print as it was printed at 24x36 inches and is featured in my studio. Appreciate your catching that.
