Cobb Gate, Anatomy Building (right) and Zoology Building (left) - at the entrance to the Main Quad at the University of Chicago
Like most buildings inside, they're over 100 years old and covered in ivy. Established in 1890, U of C is home to many achievements, including the world's first man-made, self-sustained nuclear reaction (Chicago Pile-1). There are 97 Nobel laureates among the faculty and alumni, making it a university with one of the highest concentrations in the world. Easy to be inspired, walking through the campus, seeing and feeling all of its history.
I absolutely love this shot! I love the perspective distortion of the buildings on the left and right leaning in towards the gateway, almost imposing the impression that "when walking thru this gateway, we will impart the knowledge of many upon you".... I also love all the ivy and the dramatic clouds. Fantastic work, Ayas!
Thank you so much for your kind words Don! I agree and really like the impression that you got from the buildings. The history and prestige permeate throughout the campus.
Also, looks like it'll be just me and you this week. Let the battle begin!
