This past spring, I went on a solo backpacking trip to some pretty cool canyons in Southern Utah. The first two photos were taken in that canyon with my lightweight Intrepid 8x10 camera on Fuji Velvia 50 color slide film. I spent two nights in the canyon, and had some very ideal weather (blue skies with very few clouds).
There was a change in the weather when I visited my next location, Capitol Reef National Park. The third photo was taken with my Arca Swiss 8x10 on Fuji Velvia 50 during a brief window between rain showers. The bentonite clay was soaking wet, and very nicely saturated.

Ben, great work - I followed along with your vlog from this trip and felt these were your three strongest images. The vision and execution on the first and third are very impressive and great examples of original, creative intimate landscape photography.

Hi Gordon! These were taken on Day 2, 3, and 7 of my spring trip to the Colorado Plateau. It was definitely an interesting trip, and I really look forward to heading back out there again this fall.
