p.2 #3 · Owl's embarrassing encounter with ... a branch!
Thank you, Birdie! We were fortunate to witness this never-to-be-repeated incident. The owl was petrified when a few photographers approached to help free him, but they did stop as soon as he started to struggle and subsequently was able to extricate himself. I don't think he was injured. The embarrassment was probably more damaging to the owl's psyche - owls have feelings too ya know!

Ha! Another great set of this poor embarrassed little guy.
Still cringing just thinking about it.
Great set Bobby! You guys sure made the best of an awkward situation for that little guy. Glad he's doing fine minus a little damage to his ego in front of his friends.

Thanks Dave! Yeah, we all felt so sorry for the poor owl. He was probably stunned for the first couple of minutes, as he did absolutely nothing - just hanging there by one stuck claw. The other owls didn't do a thing to help him ... they just stared at him like he's a weirdo!

Amusing sequence, and surprisingly rare to see. It's incredible how agile our flying friends are, you don't get to witness these snafus all that often. thanks for sharing!

Thanks Jim! Rare is an over statement. Never is more likely ... in this kind of situation anyway.
