I've never seen on in the open like this. The most open I've seen is right at the edge of foliage. Well captured Socrate

Great images, Socrate! I've only ever seen bitterns hiding in the reeds, so these are really special.

Super set Socrate. Knowing how difficult it is to spot these guys but to capture shots of them hunting...terrific shooting. The details, colors and actual scenes you captured are great.

Amazing photography and awesome processing I think you handled the light extremely well. Maybe I'm wrong but that's not the optimum time of day for shooting.. well executed Socrate!!

Thank you. Morris. I only see them in the reeds. For some reason this guy decided to fish in the open and stayed quite a long time.
