p.1 #1 · Hollywood calling (revisions made)

Not a typical portrait and hope this is ok to post..not sure what the boundaries are these days.

D800 and the sigma 35 art lighting from rotolight NEO led. (revised to eliminate distracting art work)

Image with a little more conventional processing.(revised to tone down exp on chest and lift exp on face)

I believe if you toned down the highlights on her leg just a tiny bit it would help add more emphasis to her face. But nice shot either way.

I wish the art wasn't behind her. I wish she was reflected better. I wish I could figure out what her left arm is doing with her robe. I wish it was mine. I can't not like it.

Dashiell Hammett or some other pulp fiction writer would have loved this!

This really looks like a painting, not a photo. How did you do the post processing ? Any tricks you're willing to share ?

Thank you Russ, As I played with the image it sort of led me into that direction, was not planned from the git go.

Thanks Goodegg. Devil in the details, I get caught up in moment, don't mind the art that much but do wish I had made sure it was straight.

Thank You Sauseschritt,
Raw processed in C1used the skin tone color editor to get more uniformity. In in CS6 used Freq Sep, with luminosity masks to further enhance and blend the tones. Lots of additional lum masks and adj layers to further isolate areas and refine the look. Finished with number of curves layers where the the blue and red end points were change and the curves altered to give a lower contrast finish. D&B and selected vignette added.

Thanks Dan...Don't always know exactly were I'll end up. I knew I wanted a vintage feel and just started playing with the image.

Thank you film_4ever. Fortunate that the model brought the peignoir as it, combined with the B&B, did project a vintage feel. Lighting was from a Rotolight NEO led supplemented by some daylight from across the room. Biased the LED to the warm side and used barn doors to restrict it's throw.

both are wonderful, but the classic feel of the 1st is my favorite

great editing.

the details as others have pointed out, would probably put the images over-the-top.

wished the lighting in the 2nd would de-emphasize the chest.. :')

Thanks tntcorp...I try to police my images but as often happens, I do overlook items as am wrapped up in the image. Devil is in the details.

oh.. de-emphasize the chest meaning the lighting is brighter than the face.. my comment does not implied anything inappropriate.. :')

By policing the image not referring to content, referring to not noticing something. When I was shooting probably had the light angled little low or maybe the upper barn door was pushed down limiting the light falling on her face. Was a very fluid shoot.

#2 was not posted when I 1st remarked. Love both. Very sensuous and a classy lady. Well processed.
Way too much processing steps for me. Your exposures are fine. If you are going to publish them, then get software that specifically address the constructive suggestions. Just my $.02. If you are happy, I am..regardless.

Thanks Dan and George....have tried to rework the image to remove the art work from both images and on 2nd image toned down exposure on chest and raised it a tad on her face. Let me know if that is any better. Not much I can do about the mirror reflection or her left arm in the 1st image, at least with my knowledge of PS.

Thanks

I really had no problem with anything about her. She is a very beautiful, sultry and classy woman. You did her proud! I am not for all the post processing some take to just post an image here. Yes I do minimal at best. If you are posting in a magazine then I guess there are other considerations one might have to take. But your post here is very classy and the woman also and as Ray Price sang: "Wish I Was 18 again"....Maybe 25??

Way over my head on your post processing and really don't care. Whatever you did to get to this point was worth the trip. First image is especially stunning.

Thanks Richard..Makeup, Styling and location all had a vintage feel, so that is what I tried to achieve through the processing. I do play around in processing and don't have a set process other than once in photoshop I'll use a midtone luminosity mask in multiply mode to give a little snap to the image.
