Hi Eric...
Absolutely beautiful in every respect. I can tell you've put a great deal of time, effort and your emotions into these photographs from experiencing your subjects in person to the final processing.
Wonderful work.
Tom
Thanks Tom...it was a very special experience, different in so many ways than anything I've done in the past.

Thanks KD...it has been a blast going through and reliving the experience...I wish I had done a bit more video and was planning to do that the following day when we hoped/expected to see this family again....best laid plans...was not meant to be...btw, Happy end of Tax season and time to breathe again.

Oh Eric, another truly remarkable set. What wonderful tender moments and interactions you have captured. Certainly you will treasure the memories from your trip forever !
I personally prefer your traditional processing . The color difference in the fur between the mother and cubs are part of the story and feel of the images for me
Birdie
Thanks Birdie...I fully get that the traditional processing makes the fur both stand out as well as show the differences in color....In retrospect I should have done separate posts and not juxtapose the two in one thread.

Thank you Pius...that is so nice coming from someone whose photos I really love.

I have to agree. The original color rendering is great and looks more like a photograph. The b/w version looks more like a pencil drawing and a lot of the subtle detail is lost.

Thanks Morris...I might consider more photos at some point but with spring in the air it's time to move on to something with more color.

Eric,
These are definitely pleasure to the eyes. What a wonderful set. The BW also worked wonderful.
~Mansur
Thanks Mansur...watching mom and cubs of many different species seems to elicit the oohs and aaahs...it certainly evokes an anthropomorphic feeling for many of us.

To actually witness all this with your own eyes has to be the thrill of a lifetime. And then to photograph them and do such a great job is to me beyond words.
All I can say is WOW!
Thanks so much and yes, you nailed it right on the head...the in person experience was quite special and to have the photos to remind me are the cherry on top.

Wow Eric! I just keep coming back to your (and Don's) posts! I don't know how you could top these, the interaction of mom with the cubs has to be a once in a lifetime experience. Congratulations! (and let me know if you are going to do it again. )
-Doug
Thanks Doug...yes it was quite amazing and I know that Don has essentially the same collection and has very nicely chosen to let me showcase mine...for sure his are at least as good if not better.

This event must be a total life reward for you Eric. I know you have seen a whole lot of wildlife but none that I have seen from you conveys such peace and harmony.....................a great refreshing set of images to appreciate.
A ton of thanks for sharing the intimacy that you saw here, these and other are priceless and beyond precious!
I prefer the color over the B&W's

- Faizan
Thanks Faizan...and yes, we only had one sighting in the week we were there. Yet, the quality of this one sighting was such that I can't even imagine having anything better. For someone who loves to photograph animals that have character, show emotion and through their behavior tell a story I could not have asked for more.

Thank you Karl....I have had the odd fleeting moment where wildlife touched me...literally a second or two and sometimes I was lucky to capture it and other times not. But this was profoundly different and brought a different kind of awareness that I have attempted to capture in photographs. I have other shots that are more or less documentary ones but to be so fortunate to see the bond between mother and cubs play out in front of me is one I will never forget.
