Sorry for the odd title, but it pretty well describes this mish mash of a post! All images were shot using natural light except for the one image of the little redheaded girl holding the branch of cotton.
First up is little Sylvie in her furry winter hood. IDK why her hair looks so red in these - it definitely has red highlights and looks very strawberry in certain lighting, but she looks like a downright ginger in this image. I think there must be some reflection coming off of the fur that made it look that way. Still love this shot of her! Her expression is so sweet!
These next few are my 4 year old son, Gabriel. He's always been a very charming little fellow! He LOVES to dress up as well. In fact, he went to preschool on pajama day dressed in a blazer, dress shirt, and bow tie. There was NO convincing him to wear pajamas to school. lol
I shot this adorable little girl in Vegas with a good friend of mine. Low and behold, her grandmother is my daughter's 2nd grade teacher in our little town 100 miles away! She was also Calista's (my 19 year old daughter) teacher as well! It was definitely one of those small world moments.
Last but not least, our awesome cat, Dennis. Dennis is a girl btw - we named her Luna when we got her, but Calista said she looked more like a Dennis. Dennis stuck. lol In the frontal shot, I totally played up the contrast in her eyes, and I am completely aware that some may find this 'overdone' or distasteful to their own standards. It was done intentionally because I like it in this particular shot, and ultimately, we shoot and edit how we like to.

Thanks Tom! Dennis is a pretty cool cat. Very laid back and knows she's good looking. She's also extremely friendly and tolerant of all the BS the kids throw her way. lol

I like to scroll down and try to look at the posted images objectively before commenting. I recognize Lisa'a style at the first image. Lisa, couldn't you screw up once in a while so those of us who are lesser-skilled could gloat a little?? Even your cat is well-behaved and has beautiful eyes. Great bunch of images, as usual.

Thank you all so much!! Gabriel definitely is a character - he's my favorite model these days. He loves taking pictures and is relatively cooperative, and a cutie pie! I've been told many times that he resembles a young Macaulay Culkin - I kind of see it, but I think Gabriel is cuter. lol

Lovely shots Lisa. I look forward to the day I can get my 4 year old daughter to pose without making the scariest smile face I've ever seen, every time.
The natural light you get there definitely beats what we get here at this time of year!

I love that last shot of Dennis. As I was scrolling the image on my monitor just happened to stop right below her eyes. That made for a wicked looking crop.

These are great, Lisa! All treasures. Your cat looks and seems so much like ours (also very tolerant of the kiddos.) Hard to pick a favorite here, but that first shot of Gabrial in yellow with the sly smile just does it for me.

With the cotton shot, the catchlight in the eyes looks like you used some sort of rectangular soft box, is that right? Also, did you use something for fill? I think I see a second catchlight in the model's right eye.

Your images always inspires and amazes me. All of them are fantastic but for some reason I keep going back to the profile shot of the cat and I don't even have a cat. It makes me wonder how you got the shot I guess.
Can't see how she could get any cuter.
