Very nice, Bruce. Just got back from 2 days in the bog myself.
Thanks... the bog was once a hidden treasure of the state, then came the internet :| ...but it's still definitely a treasure.
I hope you made some lovely images during your visit.

Great shots Bruce !! That looks like fun in the snow
Thanks!
The snow made for wonderfully soft light and added an atmospheric quality to the photos.

Thankfully, they seem to be able to tolerate the extreme cold.
Thanks Mike!...
I think they tolerate this cold better than I ever could... heading out to photograph swans this morning and I think that it is currently -14degF where I live.

Fabulous set, Bruce. Love how you have created a sense of motion in #1
Amit
Thanks Amit...
We saw the owls actively hunting the area on three occasions. In this case, I saw the owl rocking a bit and viewing down as if it were listening for something... it just happened to fly as the wind picked up... I have 4 in the series and consider myself fortunate that I got a decent flight shot on this day!

Beautiful images! I'm not sure that I would brave the extreme cold, but your effort paid off!
Keith W.
Thanks Keith...
I hate the cold for how it makes me feel physically. In fact, I plan to move to a more moderate climate (Olympic Peninsula) when I retire from teaching. Yet, the cold strips the trees and makes the wildlife visible and for this, I love the cold too.
It's a -13deg day with a slight north breeze and I'll be layering up to shoot swans this morning... dread and love , this is the way of nature photography in Minnesota.

Wonderful set, Bruce. I like them all. #3 would even look better darkened a bit. IMHO.
Rex
Thanks Rex...
I appreciate the advice and give it some thought.

i am looking forward to getting home and editing mine but, may not happen today as was planned, i just stepped outside (6am)...and right now, "crazy cold" is putting it mildly plus, Mike (mikedec) has planted a seed in my mind about catching the full moon tonight rising over Split Rock

Thanks Brian,
I'm sure it was super cold last night, but Split Rock looks amazing when its backed by a full moon. I hope you pulled off a killer shot or two!
