really nice detail - you did a 5 frame focus stack? that worked very well - lovely color and shadows

My attention is grabbed and held at El Cap. There's also a hyper sharpened and hyper contrast and hyper colored look to the photo. ( I don't buy the argument this is what the file or scene looked like, and not that you're making that argument). Looks overworked and postcardy.
Claude

Hello Claude,
I really enjoy your critiques because you speak your mind but let me be blunt as well since this time, you overstretched at bit.
I get that you don't like the image but I don't agree that it is 'hyper' sharpened/colored/contrasty...I feel it's actually the opposite as I intentionally lowered contrast and vibrance for this one in post. I usually lower contrast when shooting with this lens anyways.
Since I was the one who edited this image, I can tell you that it definitely was not overworked either.
Calling it 'postcardy' was actually funny. Thanks for the laugh.
All the best,
Fred

Hey Fred, what a unique comp for a well known view. Was it cropped at all or was this as shot with 135mm? Also, the forum data says f/2.8, how did you get that much DoF at that aperture, even considering the distance...I love the detail and sharpness, just surprised that it came from f/2.8. 135 is a great landscape FL...

Thanks Travis! Yes, it was shot with my Batis 135mm f/2.8 wide open. (handheld) with no crop in post.
At that distance, DOF is not an issue.
Take care,
Fred

Five image stack hand held. Amazing and beautiful. Cap and Half together, perfect. Incredible Yosemite light and the composition works for me. That valley always amazes. And you have made me rethink how I use my B 135.

Thanks Marcy. It's pretty easy to do as Photoshop will auto-align all images and you can average them using stack mode 'mean'.

Thanks Chuck,
The Batis 135/2.8 is amazing for landscapes because it performs best at infinity. It's sharp to the edges of the frame from wide open! The only side-effect is too much contrast but we should not be complaining.
Best,
Fred

Lovely light and nice colours in there Fred. Can you please let me know what was the stacking for. Was it for focus across the scene.
