Fred Miranda: Glad you like 2. It would have been better if I was braver on the ice and moved left more but I told my wife I would not do dumb things. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
psharvic: Glad you like the 2nd. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
tntcorp: I will have to dig up my spectallar morning shot from this spot. It can be sublime. Glad you like these. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
Hi Scott, I'm going to disagree. Actually both my wife and I are going to disagree. We both like #1 much better. It, to us, is much better balanced both top to bottom and side to side. It is easier on the eyes and more pleasing. No. 2 isn't balanced. Let me add that #1 is, in our opinion, a better environmental landscape and provides the the viewer a better sense of place. Also, the stands of trees on either side guide the eyes toward the center and to the points of interest: the river flow, the sunrise, the mountains. The eyes aren't guided as easily to a point or points of interest in #2. Good job and good luck.
I also like the details of the water's flow in the second one better, but I prefer the composition of the first shot. I like the trees bracketing the mountains and the icy foreground. Both beautiful though.
