Great series Rex, love when they pass so close like that. Love the intensity in that second image.
I've just heard one of our main areas in Wa. has been pretty torn up and looks nothing like it did, with many of the trees removed. It was expected, I just didn't know what the level of destruction was to this point.

Love to see them myself- though my pictures will never match these. I'll be in WA in Late December. Where might I go to see them.
Thanks for sharing.
Daniel, where these owls were shot, has been "destroyed" (habitat change) for salmon and ducks. Thanks for commenting. PM coming.

Thank you, Scott. It's true. I could not get these images, now. Haven't seen any owls there. Heard of one being there. It probably left in disgust.
Wow! Rex this set is fabulous. I am amazed why and when people complain about the 7D MkII and its abilities. In the right hands it really does miracles. Thanks a lot for sharing this impeccable set.
Rex, those are awesome sequential images! Owls can fly at a high speed and at a fairly short distance the speed seemed to be magnified as it approached you but you and your gear could keep up with it - well done!

Great compositions. I love the back lighting which brings out the 3D look that gives images depth. Well don!
Talk about a ressurection, Peter. Thank you.

Take it easy, KD. I don't want to hear that you are walking around with a sore butt. Thanks much.

Thank you, Joshua. I just wish the gear and I could do it all the time.

Too kind, Bibek. I have my complaints about the 7DII, but it is what I've got. And sometimes it works.
